The DIGITAL SYNESTHESIA GROUP held an interdisciplinary two-day workshop at University of Applied Arts Vienna on February 10 & 11, 2015.

15 artists and scholars from the U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Germany, the U.K. and Austria, worked intensively together to discuss and further develop the concept of DIGITAL SYNESTHESIA and the 16 digital artworks which will be presented in exhibitions in Vienna, Hong Kong, New York and London in 2016.
Some of the main topics which were discussed in different formats during the two day session were the “13 senses of digital art” which co-constitute the multi-modality of DIGITAL SYNESTHESIA, the role of media metaphors in art, and the embodiment of perception and conception in digital art.
The workshop’s findings and results will be incorporated into the DIGITAL SYNESTHESIA research publication and, of course, into the final exhibition.
